Dr. Michael A. LeNoir

Founder, Black Doctors Speak

Michael LeNoir M.D. is an Allergist and Pediatrician who has practiced since 1977.  He is a graduate of University of Texas, where he received his BA and MD degree. He is board certified by, and a fellow of both, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He has served as the President of the Ethnic Health Institute at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and Chair of the Board of the African American Wellness Project. He has also served on the board the American Association of Certified Allergist and in 2014 was elected the 114th President of the National Medical Association.

Black Doctors Speak is a flagship initiative of the African American Wellness Project. This new communication project was built for us, by us and is in response to the healthcare delivery inequities that exist between African Americans and the rest of America--while also giving a voice to Black Doctors, who are often left out of the important discussion on healthcare issues facing Black America.

With a resource rich website, the ability to directly engage with us via social media, and the weekly Black Doctors Speak Podcast, we aim to educate, inspire, and advocate for the African American community.

Hosted by Dr. Michael LeNoir, a past president of the National Medical Association, The Black Doctors Speak Podcast will highlight the healthcare issues that disproportionately affect the African American community and those of other minority communities at a higher prevalence and severity, while also providing special guest commentary, and action steps to help us heal.
